Coaches Code of conduct

Code of conduct for Coaches

All Coaches must:

  • Consider the wellbeing and safety of participants before the development of performance.

  • Responsibilities of a Coach include ensuring the welfare of their players.

  • Make sure all activities are appropriate to the age, ability and experience of those taking part.

  • Display consistently high standards of behaviour and appearance.

  • Hold the appropriate, valid qualifications and insurance cover.

  • Encourage performers to value their performances and not just results.

  • Never condone rule violations, rough play or the use of prohibited substances.

  • Follow all guidelines laid down by the national governing body and the club.

  • Develop an appropriate working relationship with all players, based on mutual trust and respect.

  • Never consume alcohol immediately before or during training or events.

  • Display consistently high standards of behaviour and appearance, dressing suitably and not using inappropriate language at any time whilst involved in club activities.

  • Encourage and guide all players to accept responsibility for their own performance and behaviour.
